Johannes Gutfleisch is a drummer, sideman, bandleader, teacher and composer.

Residing in Basel / Switzerland, he has been active in the music scene for 20 years and is known for his profound musical skills in Jazz, Funk, Latin and Fusion. At the Laufen music school in Switzerland he is a teacher for drum set, Latin percussion and ensembles.

​Coming from a musical family, he learned piano, trumpet and drums. He had drum lessons at the Drum School and Jazz School Basel and then studied at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern with Billy Brooks, Andy Scherer, Joe Haider and Sandy Patton. During several long stays in New York, he played sessions and gigs in clubs and deepened his knowledge with Gregory Hutchinson, Ari Hoenig, Kenny Washington and others.
